Fleeting not in right Spirit for Nunthorpe
by JP Lonergan, 26 July 2008
Fleeting Spirit will not be participating in next month's Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes at York.
Spirit, the ante-post favourite for the five-furlong Group One event, has been ruled out as trainer Jeremy Noseda feels she is not in the best of form for the race.
Bookmakers were quick to land favouritism on the three-year-old after she came third in the King's Stand Stakes at Ascot in what was her most recent start, but Noseda has now pulled her out.
"She wasn't right after Royal Ascot and hasn't yet bounced back in a manner in which I'd be happy to start off her preparations for the Nunthorpe,” Noseda told his website.
"There's no plan. We will give her all the time in the world and she'll show us when she is ready again.”
